Design is no longer confined to the screen or the page — it's everywhere, shaping how we navigate, interact and feel within the spaces around us. In this program, you'll learn how to craft immersive, interactive and multi-sensory experiences that blend graphic design, spatial design, technology and human-centred research. Sheridan has been granted a consent by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities to offer this degree for a seven-year term starting January 13, 2020 and subject to renewal thereafter. Application to the Ministry for renewal of the consent is a prescribed and cyclical requirement for degree programs at all Ontario Colleges. Sheridan will ensure that all students admitted to the program during the period of consent will have the opportunity to complete the program within a reasonable time frame. Credentials earned during the period of consent remain valid, even if Ministry consent to offer the program is withdrawn in the future. Prospective students are responsible for satisfying themselves that the program and the degree will be appropriate to their needs (e.g. acceptable to potential employers, professional licensing bodies, or other educational institutions).

Program Eligibility
Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent, including these required courses:
- English, Grade 12 (ENG4U), with a minimum 65%
plus
- One Visual Arts, Media Art or Communication Technology (TGJ or TGG) credit (Grade 11 or 12 any level, workplace ‘E’ level not accepted), or one postsecondary Visual Arts or Media Art credit course or a portfolio*
- Four** other Grade 12 credits (U or M level)
- Minimum 65% overall average
or
- Two semesters of postsecondary education including required English and Visual Art or Media art courses*** above with a minimum 65% overall average.
Applicant Selection
Eligible applicants are selected based on previous academic achievement (the average of their six highest senior-level credits, including required courses), plus the results of their portfolio, if required. A portfolio review fee is required with the submission.
Applicants who do not meet the admission requirements for this program may be assessed and advised individually for other related programs.
Pathways opportunity
If you do not meet the admission requirements above, successfully completing Sheridan's Art Fundamentals, Media Fundaments or Visual and Creative Arts program with a minimum 65% overall average will help you meet the admission requirements for this program.
These programs are a stepping stone to further, deeper study in your field of interest. They introduce theory and practice to students who want to assess their talent, build a basic portfolio or skill set, and chart a course for further study.
Portfolio
*Applicants who have not completed a Visual Art or Media Art credit according to the requirements above will be asked to submit a portfolio. The Office of the Registrar will update your application in the Sheridan Application Portal to notify you if a portfolio is required. Please note that there is a portfolio assessment fee.
**Applicants submitting a portfolio must have the English (ENG4U) or equivalent at a 70% plus five other Grade 12 (U or M) credits.
***Applicants who have completed two semesters of an art, design, media, or architecture-related Ontario College certificate, diploma or degree program are not required to submit a portfolio.
English Language Proficiency
All applicants whose first language is not English must meet Sheridan's English Proficiency Requirements.

- Create effective multi-sensory, spatial and experiential design solutions through critical thinking and an iterative design process.
- Undertake qualitative and quantitative research into critical experiential design issues, demonstrating awareness of research ethics.
- Employ design communication tools to develop design solutions that integrate knowledge of materials, form, space, structures, multi-sensory experiences and interactive media.
